The Burning Lord Returns

Post by RazorD9 »

Cedrick is on a quest of epic proportions, a quest for the ultimate chocolate! And what better place to find this ultimate chocolate then candyland and more specifically the den of the chocolate dragons. From there, our burning lord will somehow find himself involve with the overall plot of this year capers.

So far want Cedrick as well as June to be apart of it. Might add Gordon, since hey, magically high unicorn and candyland seems to fit oh so good.

Ah geez, where does the time go. Anyway, still planning on doing the capers, planning on starting sometime next week. Planning on dealing with the missing prince and princess and maybe touch on the sugar rush epidemic unless someone else is planning on doing something with it. Will post more stuff later this week and maybe some concepts.

Well, I had ideas, and already did put in a little bit about it in Wonder Team: TNT and Jaguar Man come down with it temporarily. It transferred to them when they ate some of the ground (marshmallow and taffy, respectively). They passed out after a short violent period and recovered without feeling the effects anymore.

My idea of how humans are affected: the Sugar Rush is a poison of sorts, and human bodies will try to sweat it out. The characters passed out because they wear coverings from head to toe. Since in my idea candy can't sweat, they are affected much more long-term.

Also, in Karabear Comics Unlimited, I have a character called the Grand Vizier screwing with my heroes, and he initially set them into gladiatorial combat. I was thinking he might have introduced the Sugar Rush (as he's a reality warper) in order to watch the candies fight each other, but I'm open to other things. The Grand Vizier is kind of a Chaos-like figure--you never know his true motivations, or if he even has them, and he has vast power. He's also a bit bipolar and often speaks in an odd mannerism. If you want to know what he looks like, I can try to draw a picture for you--but I don't remember how I colored him (and won't until Drunk Duck returns).

Ah, alrighty. Didn't want to step on any toes. Like the idea of the Vizier scheming the whole sugar rush and the war up. Might have to use him with the Princess and Prince thing if that's alright. Needed them either out of the way or something...

Hmm, kind of lost faith In Drunk Duck way before it went down recently, might just be best to find another site either until the duck is back up or as a new place for you comic.

I can't. Shortly before Drunk Duck went down, my computer died. I have a new one now (thank you to my little brother), but it will take some time for the data recovery that I requested from Best Buy to happen. All my files are either there or on Drunk Duck. Currently I'm doing what I can with deviantART hosting, intending to transfer over when Drunk Duck gets better. One big annoyance is not being able to color Karabear Comics Unlimited, as it looks sloppy right now (black and white doesn't look sloppy, but some of my visuals require color, and I can't letter properly without color).

But I'll try to draw the Grand Vizier this weekend and get him posted up here. He looks... interesting.

Behold! The Grand Vizier! There's some more info on the page. Like I mention, the flower's colors are very assumed. I also can't remember if the boot is supposed to be red or black (though I went with the latter for the picture).

Well, hey, I did use Cedrick in the latest page of Wonder Team (drawn incorrectly, though--sorry). I'm thinking of having Amazona attack him, because she is most likely to have heard of him and know of his less than savory aspects--plus, she's immune to temperature extremes, which means she may try to punch him in the face, since the fire wouldn't hurt her (but, of course, he's just fire, so it's not like it would hurt him...).

Also, your second page does something I haven't done: it shows a human native of the world. My characters have only encountered anthropomorphic candy. In fact, Wonder Team is currently hanging around a guy (named Can D. Corn--guess what type of candy he is?) that's never seen a human before--but I could easily just say he's a bit of a recluse. But I think I'll try and link to pages where I show certain characters, since I have shown a glimpse of King Jbean and Lord Lakrisal (though I forgot that was his name and called him Lord Licorice until I re-read the invitation), as well (anthropomorphic jelly bean and licorice, respectively).

Also, I'm a bit jealous, because you already have better backgrounds than I do.

Hmm, well, her punch may actually connect, though might depend if he see's it coming. Also, most if not all of his unsavory acts are usually done under the name of K'Ser'Des or in two or three accounts the Great Destroyer. He prefers to keep a low profile when traveling. One the other hand being a burning lord is bad enough and may warrant a beating since it's pretty much the equivalent of a demon lord.

As for Evralerbal, she's still consider a candy person, just has a more human-ish form. So wouldn't say she's human. No need to change anything, least I don't think.

Well, guess they are ok. Reused the mountains for the village and the field in the second panel. Just been messing around with gimp just to get the general idea that this is a place made of candy.

Well, she did punch through his face, but he could easily have seen it coming. And on tomorrow's page, Everlabel is mentioned as human, but it could be a matter of perception. Can D. Corn said he'd never seen her before. Also, I had Cedrick help Electric Ray, which will help confuse Amazona (he took the radiation away from Ray, because I was trying to figure out how I was going to do that--it was a device to show an aspect about him). I figure he could do it because he's an elemental (of sorts) and I would think he can manipulate heat (being made of fire) and radiation is simply heat. Now people don't have to worry about drawing Ray with an aura around him because it's gone.
