Karabear Comics Unlimited, Wonder Team and Fiendish Fellowsh
What? Three comics? Yes. Karabear Comics Unlimited will be supplying Eiderdown, Fractal, Astral, Sparkle, the Swimmer, and the Runner. Wonder Team will give Amazona, Ebony, Electric Ray, Jaguar Man, Koi Lusa, Marksman, and TNT. Fiendish Fellowship is the villain comic that ties the two into this, throwing in Shai'tan, Orion Despot, Masticator, Patchwork, Varla, footsoldiers, and robots.
Yes, I'm throwing in my own conflict into the mix. Specifically, my involvement in Crossover Melee will bleed into the Caper. Anyone willing to take part can, but I can also have it be separate from others' stories.
Note: I have been contemplating using Madame Fatal, Jenny Everywhere and Jenny Nowhere, but need to figure things out first. As well, I may use my own character of Split somewhere in there.
Bios and links to come.

Re: Karabear Comics Unlimited, Wonder Team and Fiendish Fell
Are there any characters that will be staring/taking the lead?
I'm not very fast at comics, and in the spirit of including everybody that joins in it would be cool if I knew who to concentrate on puling into the crossover.

Re: Karabear Comics Unlimited, Wonder Team and Fiendish Fell
I'll let you know when I iron out my plot. However, I will say that it's likely Astral and Sparkle won't be concious, and they most likely will be with the Wonder Team crew. That leaves Eiderdown, Fractal, the Swimmer, and the Runner for Karabear Comics Unlimited. I may throw in some of my supporting superheroes, too, but people don't need to worry about them so much. I'm toying with a storyline where a superpowered man with some mental issues has forced my characters into combatting some supervillains. Still, I'm not sure, since I just came up with the idea.
My thing is that none of my characters are entering the candy land to save Halloween candy. Much as it's a fun concept, it doesn't mesh so much with the fact that my own comics are serious, and I couldn't justify a storyline about saving Halloween candy, especially since they're currently trying to stop an interdimensional conqueror.
Anyways, that said with Karabear, Wonder Team is more of a team, made up of characters pulled from public domain comics. They're going to be interacting with Fiendish Fellowship a lot, and looking to take down Shai'tan. The group is supposed to be a cohesive unit, but their heavy hitters are Wonderson and Amazona, who can be seen as analogues to Superman and Wonder Woman, respectively (albeit without the power to fly just yet--I'm trying to see how I can get them to fly and make it work with the story). However, Jaguar Man and Koi Lusa (who I renamed from Black Panther, since that name's kind of taken by a Marvel character) are cat-themed, which makes me think they might have some good interactions with the Hey Fox crew (animals with animals, after all). Ebony is Jaguar Man's companion black jaguar, who has human-level intelligence.
For Fiendish Fellowship, Shai'tan is definitely the center, with Orion Despot as his right hand man.

Half the fun of being on the Caper, would I think, is to figure out how to weave the characters into the multiple storylines that tends to spring up and entvine, ESPECIALLY if one tries to keep the whole shenanigan in canon with the main comic
Looking forward to see what you come up with Ave, good to see you back on the caper with a whole set of characters in tow

A whole set? It's three comics' worth! Three whole sets. That's a lot of sets, to be sure.

Pshaw! They end up in Candyland's dimension and what they need to get back is hidden in the candy. Yep. I chose characters with only one story apiece. It's interesting to try to do something with characters who didn't have staying power back in the day.

One story is more like the publisher floundering around, throwing stuff at the wall and hoping it sticks. You really can't determine staying power until you've 1. written a few stories with the character 2. gotten reader reactions.

There's definitely potential in them. Heck, one of them is the original Wonder Man (renamed Wonderson in my comic), who only got such a small presence because of a lawsuit.
Also, putting them in a team evironment helps hem feed off each other and not have to worry about individual inability to sustain a book. It's kind of like much of the X-Men, who really are not solo players but do work well together.

Oh, yeah, lots of potential. Heck, reading the scans at the Digital Comic Museum I even had my own idea for a story with the Centaur characters. (Whether I ever get the time to do it is another matter. )
Personally I'm amazed at the balls Centaur had to do The Ferret. A guy who's superstrong, invulnerable, flies, wears a costume that looks like Superman's with the S removed and a ferret head for mask.
I guess if going out of business didn't stop Centaur first, DC's potential lawsuit would have.

Re: Karabear Comics Unlimited, Wonder Team and Fiendish Fell
The storyline leading Karabear Comics Unlimited into the Caper starts here.
References for Karabear Comics Unlimited:
* Eiderdown - controls feathers
* Fractal (and an early reference for Eiderdown--this one shows her ponytail) - remember the second glove I didn't have room to draw (shaped like the one that was drawn). Also remember: Fractal is constantly shifting sex, height, weight, age (always an adult, though), race, etc. and the costume has constantly changing fractal patterns. Fractal's power is energy constructs (a la Green Lantern, only fractal patterned instead of green)
* Sparkle - she'll be unconcious (carried by Wonderson)
* Astral - he'll be unconcious (carried by Amazona)--note that this is different than he looked last year because this is his physical form, not his astral form
* The Swimmer - makes the air take on the properties of water
* The Runner - no powers, but uses gadgets made by undersea civilizations
References for Wonder Team:
* Wonderson - has super strength and durability (early Superman powers) that come from his ring. Eager to stop the war, because he despises any sort of war.
* Amazona - super strength and immunity to extreme temperatures, also appears as whatever race the one who looks at her is most comfortable with. A bit aloof and arrogant, but trying to be better.
* Electric Ray - his body is a conductor of electric energy, the gloves and shoes being rubber to keep him from accidentally electrocuting people. Recently had a bit of an unsettling experience that is having him question his identity.
* Jaguar Man - cat-like powers, including the speed of a cheetah, as well as enhanced senses and agility, as well as the ability to talk to cats. An incorrigible flirt, he will hit on men and women equally.
* Koi Lusa - no apparent powers, but moves like a cat most of the time and uses a knife. He's supposed to be Native American, so his skin should be redder than the reference. As well, his costume should have a tail. Koi Lusa is an analytical type, a lot colder than the rest of his team (he's the team's Batman, really).
* Marksman - an expert marksman and has pockets in his cape of tesseract dimensions (bigger on the inside) that house various weapons for him to throw (spears, balls, daggers, shurikens, etc.). He's quite adept at combat but awkward socially.
* - height charts, showing TNT (since I couldn't find the actual reference picture). He has a gun of his own design that shoots atomic blasts which may not spread the radiation to others but remain nevertheless incredibly powerful. The gun can also deflect bullets with its shots.
* Ebony is Jaguar Man's companion, a black panther with human-level intelligence (but not human vocal chords, so only Jaguar Man can understand her).
References for Fiendish Fellowship:
* Shai'tan - he has magical abilities, often used to pump up his own strength and mass (like the Hulk)--when he does this, he is surrounded by black and grey sparkles; he also semi-regularly shoots black blasts from his hands.
* Orion Despot - a murderer and rapist in a suit of armor (unlike Iron Man, I have not had him flying).
* Masticator - he has super strength and flight derived from, and strengthened by, eating human flesh, the more innocent the better; his costume is sewn from the skin of his victims and his knives are hewn from their bone--the knives can cut not only physically, but also damage one's soul.
* Footsoldier (one design), another design
* Robot (one design), another design

Re: Karabear Comics Unlimited, Wonder Team and Fiendish Fell
I never did put up the Varla and Patchwork references, did I?
Anyways, it should be known that all the black and white pages have been nicely updated in color! It was a lot of pages, and it took a bit of time to color. Especially when I didn't know how to color some parts. Anyways, go check if you wish.
