I should have a sketch of the undertaker, his office, and Quazi... er, Igo... uh, I mean, Heinik... um. Humanniken. Yeah, that's it. Anyway, I should have the sketches ready by this weekend... been a bit busy with work and still need to hook up my scanner, but they'll be 'round soon.

When thinking of things about this crossover many, many months ago I considered having my Truckers characters appear as Stagecoach drivers.

Course the ideas I had for using them have been discarded, but if anyone wants to use this look...

Hmm... maybe they were the ones who put that wagon in the way of Gray and Alex's portal... *laughs*

Scoleri

Post by Wheels »

Joff has an awsome picture of the Scoleri brother. Which of corse I can't find right now to link. Anyway I suggested that all the brothers look alike just their hieght or maybe the color of their shirts differ. I would like to propose that there be many brothers 4+ so that there will be plenty of Gunnfight fodder for all our trigger happy characters. I have an idea for a gunfight squence for Ogre Beb that amuses me. Also is it just me or are the catagories for the topics here blurring a bit? I think we need to tighten this up a bit. I don't know where to look anymore.

I agree about the threads getting confused. I propose that everyone making plot replies make them in the converging plot threads, even if you're replying to something from one of the other threads. Likewise, unless you're posting about your comic's specific day of release, don't post plot ideas in the timeline thread. I'll try to stick to this rule too.

As for the scoleri brothers, I think 2 is probably better than more, because it's easier to characterize 2, and it would be harder to imagine there being more than a few deciding to dig up the graveyard. Plus, there's the new york gag to consider.

Just letting you know that I've managed to finish the maps of Shelterville and its cementary... if all goes well, I'll have it scanned and up by tomorrow evening, my time!

And Wheels, I'll add the description for a original Shelterville gunslinger, just for you and Ogre Bebs!

Okay, here it is, the "official" map of good old Shelterville anno 1883!

Its not to be considered 100% canon, but can be used as a general guideline for whatever chaos and mayhem you have planned to take place in the town.

I could have done some old-fashioned Wild West texture on the map, but I'm not an artist/coloring shark like most of you, so this is what you get.

And now... for your delight, the church and cemetery of Shelterville!

... the same excuses as of Shelterville itself still applies here!

Image

Larger Version can be found here

A little explanations to some of the parts:

Seven Sisters: The tombstones for the famous Dolly Sisters who all died of Black Fever some 20 years ago.

Johnson Family Site: The burial ground for the old Johnson family who founded Shelterville all those years ago. While they are not the family they once were, you can still find Johhsons everywhere in the city.

Dead Hill: On the top of the small hill rests the remains of a mighy tree, died and petrified long before Shelterville came to be.
(... and guess whats lying beneath  )

Boot Hill: Everyone condemmed a criminal and hanged on Hang Man's Hill is buried in this unholy ground.

Graves of No Names: Well, take a guess

Okay, how many gunfights (or possibly more appropriate, fist-fights) at the KO corral can we get in? ^_--

Just in case anyone would like to be able to include a map somewhere in their comic, I did this up in PhotoShop:

It's not hard... took maybe 5 minutes for both of 'em. Only thing is that to do them the way I did, you have to have both PhotoShop and the Melancholytron filter from Flaming Pear. I basically did 2 different sepias on the image... one that was rounded (to get the corner effects and the first layer of aging), and one that was either tall or wide depending upon the picture (which gave it a little more wear on the sides, and a second layer of aging.) The end result was pretty nice, though... even I was impressed.

This is also the same technique I'm going to use for the group photo (which I'll get done as soon as I get my scanner hooked back up from my move... probably this weekend.)

Short and sweet version: I used a PhotoShop filter. Twice. *smiles*
