New potion: Potion of Ultimate Chance (Minor Atifact)

Post by Ancient Soul »

BETA version of POTION OF ULTIMATE CHANCE

Kinda risky potion
0-4 Enlarge Person (PERMANENT)
5-9 Reduce Person (permanent too)
10-14 Water Breathing (3 hours after used)
15-19 Dispell magic (as spell)
20-24 Fly (as spell)
25-29 Darkvision (60 feet, permanent)
30-34 Blindness (permanent)
35-39 Stone Skin (as spell)
40-44 Polymorph into donkey (2 days and theres no saves)
45-49 Passwall (as spell)
50-54 False Vision (as the nice little spell)
55-59 True seeing (5 hours)
60-64 Antimagic Field (another nice little spell from players handbook)
65-69 Simulacrum (wink: DMs can control these and make lotsa bad stuff with a cute little clone)
70-74 Reverse Gravity (see another spell in players handbook)
75-79 Control weather (after the users mood in the drinking moment and 3 hours forward
80-84 Otto's Irresistible Dance (speaks for itself I think)
85-89 Heal (as spell)
90-94 Harm (as spell too :) )
95-100 Change Gender! (changes gender permanent!)

The Wizards of Old once had a brewing contest, and all wizards came with their own potion... when the prize SHOULD be given to an Archmage named Lucian Blackrose, the potions was stolen by the thief guild in Netherwind city, and mixed and they got 5 of these potions out of it... the only 5 existing. The thiefs was hunted down by the wizards, and the fight between Lucian and head of the Thief guild was a most AMAZING battle. Lucian Blackrose is still known to exist, even that no-one knows if its in life or he has turned into an undead (he hates them like pest so DMs, please dont make him a lich or alike)

This potion is clear as the purest water and has a smell like laventer over it

If tried identified DM needs to roll percent to see what ability will be discoverd. Both the name AND the rolled ability will be known to the caster

Wow, that's an interesting potion... I suspect if the character that had it knew what it was, he'd never even consider trying it... it would be more valuable if sold to a mage for research.

But since then has players been accused of logical thought? There will definetly be some out there who WILL try it out... probably the same people who will play a game of poker with the Ultimate Deck of Too Many Things!

A nifty potion indeed... I'll see to get it added to the Item-page, once I get the 3rd ED potions set up that is! 8)

Oh yeah...
The potion has a random effect from that table, right? Could it show a different effect when examined than when used?

So you roll once for each examination and once for when drinking it? That sounds like a top nice idea to me! :P

Yup, that makes it a wonderfully sneaky trick to pull on potion-dependent adventurers :)

There's always room for new potions!
As well as spells, weapons, monsters, cloaks.... etc

When you think your creation is complete... perhaps modified based on comments, then PM or mail it to me and I'll add it to the site...! :D
