Questions about Visual Novel Creation

Umm... something happened (or rather, to be more precise, didn't happen) and now I'm somehow in charge of the story for a visual novel. Can I get some advice, please?
The difference between good and evil is only perception. That's why I choose an alignment of chaotic neutral, so I don't have to worry over such stupid things as morals.

UPDATE: We've all decided it will be a suspense Visual Novel, and I need to know more about thrillers and mysteries. Can anybody help me?

Mysteries generally cover something which is mysterious, although in modern times tends to refer to stories involving crime, usually involving police or detectives (both professional & amateur), although can also be from the criminal's POV. Sometimes the audience is given a chance to solve the mystery, but other times the audience knows who did it & is just following the story to see how it unfolds.

The terms Suspense & Thriller tend to be stuck onto the spy end of the fiction rack although they cover more than that. I don't know of any hard & fast definitions of them (I suspect publishers use them when they can't think of another genre term to use), although personally I would describe Suspense as having a general sense of danger to it, whereas Thriller tends to be more action oriented & the protagonist is in danger, but I'm sure there are examples that don't fit.
