Reading through the whole thing I'd say the closest match is to Blackwolfe Coyoten http://theforumwars.smackjeeves.com/com ... e-we-here/

Okay, with the last helpful suggestion... and some confirmation...I think I now got the cameo-list for the last CC strip complete.
Thanks everybody!
Thanks everybody!

Finally got to do my take on that strip... don't really know if its any better thoughTyris wrote:A while ago we did flat colours on part of a panel from here, intending to make it into an avatar.
The Tyris of the picture is missing several features, but you're worried about colouring, not drawing, so that shouldn't actually be any problem.
Edit: Heh, looking back we never did colour the eyes. They'd be blue, but we didn't figure out how to make that look good when there is only a border and a hole.

Re: Bunnies, Watchers and Boardies...
(Jstone here... My handle has changed. Need to put that in my sig.)
Well, I don't have any good references of the Admiral, but here's the best one I've got. Good enough for a color reference, anyway:

(Bleh. I still don't like anything I draw. I usually end up with strange proportion problems: I can have a good deal of the image in proportion, but one or two elements will be just slightly wrong. Usually my heads are too big, but in this image it's that the hands are too small and the legs are slightly too long. Oh well.)
I don't have a good reference for the Terran armor, but it's monochromatic anyway: light grey plate over a dark-grey bodysuit with a visor that can vary between transparent and full-black tint based on lighting conditions and wearer preference (liquid crystal layers are cool like that

Thanks DBE, I still have a few more Forumite-filled strips to color (not to mention when we come to the Last Battle), so this might come in handy!

I didn't leave the internet; I just vacated certain parts in favor of others. :pAmon Star wrote:Wow, Jstone, long time no see. I thought you had left the Internet.

Well, good to see you again anyway. You gonna return to any of your old stomping grounds? Things have changed mightily in your absence.DatabaseError wrote:I didn't leave the internet; I just vacated certain parts in favor of others. :pAmon Star wrote:Wow, Jstone, long time no see. You know, Amon. that really depends on what happens. The reason I left Mayhem is that there really wasn't anything left that held my interest. This EOU thing might get that interest back.

Fair enough, though we might not be allowed to play this time. Anyway, I was also talking about the new EGS forum. You got the Fort 2 going then lost all interest, which seemed off to me.DatabaseError wrote:You know, Amon. that really depends on what happens. Re: Bunnies, Watchers and Boardies...
Yeah, well, I had a lot going on at the time I dropped off the forums (depression issues, joblesness, that sort of thing,) and needed to get off the 'net for a while and pull my life back together. I'm almost there, save for one issue with a local college completely screwing me over on financial age and therefore dropping me into debt.Amon Star wrote:Fair enough, though we might not be allowed to play this time. Edit: And I'm not really worried about being "in control" of my cameo character. It's cool enough that I've been in the forum wars, and that the forumites are getting mentioned again.

Ouch. Well, I hope you manage to sort that out. I know full well how awful debt is.DatabaseError wrote:Yeah, well, I had a lot going on at the time I dropped off the forums (depression issues, joblesness, that sort of thing,) and needed to get off the 'net for a while and pull my life back together. Yeah, I'm taking care of that. Slowly. I might be getting a profit sharing payout this quarter, which will help out a bit.Amon Star wrote:Ouch. Well, I hope you manage to sort that out. I know full well how awful debt is..

Re: Bunnies, Watchers and Boardies...
I still hold to the belief (probably false, but it gives me smiles) that one of the reasons I got cameo'd as many times as I did may have been in part due to me leaving my character's action's vague enough to make him freely usable for the mongers' and artists' wants/needs rather than writing out big "impressive" and "important" actions for him myself.DatabaseError wrote:Edit: And I'm not really worried about being "in control" of my cameo character. Re: Bunnies, Watchers and Boardies...
I'm sure that I really annoyed a lot of the mongers by being a loudmouth, self-important newbie throughout a good portion of the 'Wars. Fortunately for the forumites, I took a turn for the better sometime around the CTW. But that was far too late to do the comic part of things any good.ChroniclerC wrote:I still hold to the belief (probably false, but it gives me smiles) that one of the reasons I got cameo'd as many times as I did may have been in part due to me leaving my character's action's vague enough to make him freely usable for the mongers' and artists' wants/needs rather than writing out big "impressive" and "important" actions for him myself.DatabaseError wrote:Edit: And I'm not really worried about being "in control" of my cameo character. Re: Bunnies, Watchers and Boardies...
I remember both good and testing times from the involvement of the Forumites back during the Wars, I never regret the Forum Wars were added, even though it was a trying time seeing egos flare up and explode... but it was fun
And yes, some did get more screentime than others, but they also normally did stand out in the general crowd with their comments and involvement... but if we could have involved more and all, we would have.
But believe me, everything that went on in the forums was watched closely, even though I personally had to give up keeping an eye on all the RP-going-on in Mayhem!
Most memorable episodes? The intial uprising in the forums at the mentioning of EGS in EOU, the ruckus when Deception revealed his Draconic secret, as well as the Mayhem that took place when Death Bunny was revealed and had to escape

I had fun poking around as the Editor on their forums for a while there. NO ONE ever caught on that the Editor ONLY posted when he was off-camera in the comic, though, which disappointed me.

Yeah, sorry about the whole BD thing. I should have cleared with someone before 'outing' him in character. I was treating the Wars to much as an RP back then.Hogan wrote:I remember both good and testing times from the involvement of the Forumites back during the Wars, I never regret the Forum Wars were added, even though it was a trying time seeing egos flare up and explode... but it was fun

Wow, that's true. I was actually looking at things like that and yet I missed it.
Re: Bunnies, Watchers and Boardies...
Heh, I even made it a point to not post as the Editor if he was appearing in any of the cameo'd comics along the way. When he showed up in someone else's comic, I would not post. When he was directly involved in clearing out you invaders from the EOU home, he didn't post.Amon Star wrote:Net wrote:I had fun poking around as the Editor on their forums for a while there. I was SURE someone, ANYONE would pick it up... and no one ever mentioned it. To me, it was the only thing that would make sense... he can't post if he's having screen time, after all.
