Bunnies, Watchers and Boardies...

Post by Hogan »

... you know who you are!

You were the ones massing in the various forums, banding together to fight the scourge of the Evil Overlords almost two years ago, encountering and battling them both in the forums as well as in the comic of EO itself!

... its for the latter case this thread is created...

As you might remember, and can now still see, a good deal of the last part of the original EO strips went up without colors... a fact we are trying to make up for now by adding said colors! (see the EO Color Strip-thread).
Now, a good deal of those strips involved various Forumites and herein lies the problem... due to the amount of time having passed since the days of the Crossover Wars, many of the pics-of-reference and/pr describtions posted in war-threads around the participating forums... have gone missing or become hard to find... making the color-work a tad bit more difficult.

So what I'm asking you all to do, is to here repost any pic-of-reference, avatarimages (as some cameos in EO were based on those) and descriptions of as many who posted during the wars as possible, the more the merrier actually, as it can also make this thread a memory shrine for the Forumite fighters of long ago, assembled at one place :)

Thank you in advance to anybody who heeds this call for help! :)

Author reporting in! Forgot I had this account. Anyways, I've got the main picture Author is based off of.

I know I showed up a few times. I actually colored myself an avatar from one of my in-comic cameos.

For further reference, I'm pretty sure my appearances were based either on this avatar...

...Or an avatar I had pulled from this Magic: the Gathering card (which the other avatar is a parody of).

Ah! Thanks Author and Chronicler! Just what I was looking for, especially since I for sure are going to work on strips that'll include both of you at one point! :D

Do pass on my request to the rest of the Forumites should you still be among them, there's still a lot of references dearly missed :)

Call it an added bonus ;)

Registered here just to reply to this topic. You guys got my colors wrong the one time I remember appearing in the main comic, so I encourage you to steal the colors directly from my character portrait this time. ^^;

I know it's not nearly as good as Author's, but I did make it myself.

Hehe, thanks Azalea, I'll try my best to do your picture justice, and if all things turn out nice, I'll go back and fix up the colors on your first appearance :)

Know you already have a rather recent reference for the little imp, but here's another (so you don't have to go looking for a comic)... minus the necklace.

Dave's the one floating, in the black. The one in the foreground is Roonstown

A more recent picture of Dave.

And since Hydragon doesn't post any more over at 910CMX, I went to find some colours of him and the pickled mallet too.

A while ago we did flat colours on part of a panel from here, intending to make it into an avatar.

The Tyris of the picture is missing several features, but you're worried about colouring, not drawing, so that shouldn't actually be any problem.

Edit: Heh, looking back we never did colour the eyes. They'd be blue, but we didn't figure out how to make that look good when there is only a border and a hole.
You can't look dignified when you're having fun.

Sir Tasnica chimes in:
I was definitely one of the lucky ones when it came to the EOU event. I came back from vacation only to find that my character had appeared in a relatively major role (amongst the Wotchers) with a satisfying presentation, all without any input from myself (I didn't even know the Crossover Wars existed until they were halfway done). Thus, I guess I have a rosier memory of the event than some of my fellow Wotchers whom fate did not treat quite as well.

As for colors, I believe the sample image used was:

This image should have all the colouring info you need for Amon.

However, as his appearance was meant to be constantly shifting slightly, you probably shouldn't worry too much about the details.

Thanks to all who have helped with refreshing the references so far... I already know I'm going to need some of them in the strips to come :)

I have just finished flat-coloring (the only part level I have achived) this strip (can anyone give me a positive ID on the various cameos? ;) Then I'll add it to the subtext) and am currently working on this one (i'll update both of them at the same time), but I could do with a positive ID on the guy with the cybermask, and a reference shot if possible :)

The first image is Ajac, Bunny.
The fourth is Kum-El, Boardie.
The Seventh is Frozen Chicken, Wotcher.

Are you sure about the bird? It looks more like one of VkmSpouge's penguins to me.
