Crossover Wars in "Wikis"

Post by Hogan »

Much to my surprise, I found out some time ago, that there has actually been someone who has made Wiki-articles about the Wars and certain parts of it!

While there's no articles in Wikipedia (and one can wonder for how long any would survive...), but in Comixedia there are articles on the Crossover Wars, as well as the Evil Overlords.

Furthermore, the CGWiki has an entry for The Evil Overlords

In the EditThis.info Wiki, there is also an entry dedicated to the Crossover Wars as a whole and all the sub-storylines mentioned in the Hub. Its actually the Wiki that covers EGS Mayhem.

I also remember some entries being in the EGS-Mayhem specific Wiki, I'll get them added when I have them dug out again.

It's also been brought ot my attention that TvTropes has an entry for the Crossover Wars ... just all empty.

The reason for posting this here, is the fact that the various entries are pretty bare and could use som expansion and/or modifications, so if anyone wants to fiddle with them, here they are for your leisure! 8)
... and, if anyone would like to have some information confirmed before adding it, there should be enough people around in these parts to give a proper answer to them

Actually Hogan, we DID make WIKIPEDIA.ORG

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fi ... crossovers

"The Crossover Wars" and "Evil Overlords United" is highlighted and ready for an article to be posted about it, but no one has contributed one yet.

REPEAT: WE DID MAKE WIKIPEDIA.ORG AND WE ARE IN NEED OF TWO ARTICLES ON IT THAT CAN PASS THEIR STANDARDS.

Well, Ardra is in Wikipedia right now. I can make a mention about The Crossover Wars participation if that will help.

Otherwise, maybe we should put together a catelog/information book on the Wars for sale on Lulu... maybe purchase a publishing code and that will make the Crossover Wars more viable with a print source?

*shrug*

Also, doesn't some reference by Tangent help make comic notable? I could have sworn someone said it did... :/

There are references to the wars in TV Tropes - #1 & #2
CGWiki wrote:It's a collaboration comic written by the talented Net (writer of, among others, the comics of Tales of Pylea, Knights of Vesteria and Tales of the Traveling Gnome), inked by the Ti-Phil (the guy who does the Volet) and coloured by Mravac Kid

He has, many times in fact. His reason for saying that is because someone linked to him on the EGS wiki, and they remain because someone with pull said they are noteworthy (or something like that).
I am what I am.
I am a man of many colours.

Written at a time long before my involvement was known... and it still remains mostly unknown :P

Also, added information on the CW-pages off EditThis.info wiki to the list.

Okay, I've written up a brief description of the Crossover Wars for TV Tropes.

It's not very good, but it's a start. So feel free to add to/subtract from/completely rewrite the article if need be.

Just be aware that TV Tropes is about Tropes that can be found in various works so be sure to provide links & examples to the entry.

It was either that or Side Quest.*

But if someone wants to change it no problem.

* Really, Hogan, was there a point to that? Even before the problem with non-participants it didn't seem to have any bearing on the overall storyline.

Actually I think KAM was pretty close... or I didn't get the full meaning of the Scrappy` :?

But, we have to face it... the Squirrel Wars were originally a storyline intended to play fun on the fact that so many webcomics involved Squirrels one way or another, and hence the idea of the interwebcomical Squirrel Mob Alliance was born :D

It wasn't intended to hook directly into the mainstream Wars, except for its part with the Original Bracer... not in the original set of plans that is. However, due to a lot of unlucky circumstances, the storyline stalled... but due to the fact that it WAS already involved, it had to be carried through, and hence what become the result... which was, not to forget, a heroic effort from a lot of different artists, picking up the pieces and gluing the together :)

If anything I think the Squirrel Wars should be filed under Arnheim... One Bridge Too Far... One Storyline Too Much

... but I don't even know if thats a trope? :P

I would change it, but that means making an account, which will mean spend more time on that wiki, which means more yelling from my girlfriend, so I'll pass. Anyway, side quest is more likely appropriate, though I think Two Lines No Waiting would be better, as it's a separate storyline. However, it is amusing that the guy who started the Squirrel wars felt the need to dis it.

I didn't start the Squirrel Wars, I was drafted.

Maybe one day the secret forum will be opened up & people can read the behind the scenes stuff that went on. It got quite stressful at times & if I poke fun at it, it is only to keep my sanity (or what's left of it.)

The Candi fans were the worst, ripping into the thing just as it started.

Then because of some miscommunication about how long Starline would be participating there was a very big chance of the whole storyline going up in flames. That was a frantic weekend. Fesworks got drafted in & we spent a couple of days rewriting the whole thing.

Very, very stressful.

Oh, you don't actually need to make an account at TV Tropes. I only created an account there because I found myself making so many edits that I decided it would be easier just to be known there.

When we have to get down to it... I'm probably the one to blame :)

(Well, I'm probably to blame for much Crossover War-wise, and with good reason...)

Thanks! :) We tried our best & while I am grumpy about the Wars & try to stay away from these kinds of Massive Multiplayer Crossovers there were fun times while it was going on.

Ok, who cannot count?
tvTropes wrote:# Five Bad Band: The Evil Overlords

* The Big Bad: The Editor
* The Dragon: Deception, who actually is a dragon, as well.
* Evil Genius: Dr. Catastrophe
* The Brute: Celine Quickenice, because of her powerful telekinesis
* Dark Chick: Zworgue, at least until his final evolution.
* The Lancer: Jason Fellback
That's 6, not 5.

Also, I thought "The Editor" was "Evil Overlord", not "Big Bad". Remember that comment about Deccy looking for a job? :-)
"So my Mom left me a huge heap of molding, rotten, decaying, puss-dripping zombies ... How cool is that?"

"So what is your advice to me?"
"Stop doing stupid crap."
