1. Who or what is the greeter? (where did I miss him?)
2. This co-worker isn't surprised by this
3. The co-worker isn't too surprised by (is that Marshmallow? Why is there more than one of her?)
4. Yet a couple of strips earlier http://eou.comicgenesis.com/d/20090909.html she was surprised by all this.

None of this was resolved/explained by the time the halloween story starts up.
1. The greeter is an employee of Wal-Mart's who's job is to say hi to everyone as they arrive.
2. Don't know.
3. Marshmellow is a Dust Bunny, so she divides when pressure is applied to her.
4. Don't know.

Ah, the last two I can answer readily!

The Greeter is a native/employee of Walmart (in the world taken over by Phil), hence the co-worker is not surprised about it/him/her (but Deccy is), however, Author and Marshmellow are characters known to Deception, but totally unknown and surprising to the co-worker...

Oh, an the clarify... both Author and Marshmellow are Forumites (characters spawned from forum life & RP) from back when the EO's clashed with the Forums of other comics, invading them and in the process taking down yet another wall of the very structure of the webcomic universe and communities 8)

To clarify: I know what a Walmart greeter is. "Hello, and thank you for coming to Walmart today".

This particular greeter turned out to be a match for Author, not any surprise to the walmart employee, apparently not human, and well known to the locals as what it is.

But what is it? Did we see it on camera and I just didn't recognize what I was looking at?

And what kind of world is it where some fairly non-normal people are around, but others are cause for at least initial alarm.

I don't think we're in "normal earth with a small amount of magic" anymore.

Ok, Hogan, what is it that involves a beaver, a toilet plunger, and 10 rolls of duck tape?

And what sort of grudge?

On March 17th, he stuck his leg into the blade. Was he intending for the magic damper to be broken? Did he have something else in mind? If it's broken, why isn't he using his full powers?

I don't think he was intending, as he seemed pretty surprised. Also, he probably hasn't realized yet.

Did you have to link TvTropes _twice_? Once is bad enough, but I'm up to 13 tabs, and still haven't even reached EvilOverlord yet.

Trust me... you DON'T want to know!

Lets see... they kidnapped me and my friends, tortured me and forced me to help them control the DRACO, then kept me in imprionsed for some 6 months... I think I'm allowed to carry a grudge!

Only Phil can tell for sure, but I think he hoped for the magically strengthened dampener to be stronger than the blade... and he was more or less right, except that i seemed to damage the dampener, obviously letting him retain some of his former magically self... but I don't think he has looked in a mirror and realized it yet :P

As far as I know, the Greeter wasn't seen on camera. As for how he was a match for Author, I don't know either. In fact, we speculated about that at the time in the talk box. I think the best theory was this Greeter was the Anthromorphic Personification of Wal-Mart.

Currently on Deception's tail :

Greeter : Strange black tentacled beasts, called Author a faceless jerk. According to Author, it is bound to this webcomic world.

Walmart greeter: Albert, hello, welcome, buy some crap and get out.

Mel : Owner's daughter with a bad habit of stealing as a rebellious action against her father. She was forced to work to payback for the stolen games. She seems to know this greeter.

Strand : Gun nut, ex-military, now works at walmart.

Petunia : Not the smartest tool in the shed, she takes care of the gardening section. She has an eye on Deccy.

Megaman robots : Sent by whom? According to Hogan, it is not littlebeasts and Deception has little to no knowledge of the megaman webcomics beside Bob and George, Too many authors and Life of Wily. Could there be someone else sending them to kidnap him? And what is this about conception ffflaws?

Current world : American Gothic? Aggie says it is the real world. Deception is certain it is american gothic. Author claimed this world is currently authorless. While it is true that Aggie is searching for Aura's whereabout, why would it be authorless?

Early in Deception's tale:
http://eou.comicgenesis.com/d/20071028.html

He seems to be waking up to being WCA, but I thought it was already established that all of The Editor's people were WCA.

Since this was Aggie's part at first, here is how I see it :
In the EOU, he still had a way to return to his home comic where he lived most of his life. But now he's lost somewhere, no more author to write for him, no more Editor to open up new path, just him, alone, before the great and vast unknown. That happens to everyone in life.

As for "I really am a figment of someone's imagination", I think he means that in contrast to being a comic character, i.e., he thinks he's not in any comic.

"Lancer to our five bad band" ...

OK, I checked out Five Bad Band, and Lancer.

Five Bad Band says that The Dragon corresponds to The Lancer on the heroes. It does say that if there is a 6th, it might be a traditional Lancer. But the description of Lancer doesn't really match Fellback, as far as I can see.

So why is Fellback considered the lancer?

I actually forgot about Fellback when I added the Five Bad Band entry to the Crossover Wars Trope page, so it was someone else who added Fellback as The Lancer.

Reading the various definitions I have to agree Lancer isn't a good fit & that The Dragon would be better for him.

Oddly enough I noticed that there is a Trope for Co Dragons, showing that sometimes there can be more than one Dragon at a time.

Catching up on the newer comics.

http://eou.comicgenesis.com/d/20120725.html

Alright, by now we've seen the link between the thingie flashback story as well as Deception's epilogue. At least, we've seen that some of the same characters are in it. ... And I'm not really sure I understand that.

But lets get back here.
In http://eou.comicgenesis.com/d/20120619.html, Claria makes the comment about Deccy being the only one left in the comic she can detect. Other than this being really bad, tactics (you don't give your knowledge to the enemy), Deception realizes the implications of this -- what did he realize that I did not? We know that there are others here -- a priest and Victoria, for example -- and if they are not webcomic characters, what are they? Is Claria just detecting "out of comic webcharacters" -- in which case she is saying that the only ones left are normal characters from the comic, and Deccy -- or is she saying "I have zipped up all the characters from this webcomic", in which case the priest and Victoria (At least) are actually ... what? Forumites left over from the war?

Claria just encased the marshmallow bunny-thing, and starts turning the ground into air to try to drop Deccy. She says that she is toying with him because she likes it. Fine. Then she threatens to go after Celine. How? She doesn't seem like the type to lie to throw him off-balance, so she actually expects to. Yet that part of the comic does seem to have an author, a different drawing style, and colors -- like it's a third comic/story sharing a common URL. Even if she doesn't know about Chaos helping Celine, she must actually have a plan to go in and do something -- and if she could, then all of the remaining characters are open to her (which is, Dr. Catastrophe, The Editor, who is no longer in Mindmistress's prison, Zworgue's "present time" (last seen in a fight at the start of the flashback, where is he now?), ...

Hmm ... So Jason was actually last seen going into the 403 zone at the end of the war, right? And now he's directing Claria and Fred?

Lets see if anything clears up reading a few more comics.

EDIT: Ok, so there's this:
Victoria and Edward : The Editor's doppleganger as mentionned here (http://eou.comicgenesis.com/d/20070124.html) who were in American Gothic but got "copied" when Aggie created the prison comic. One desire freedom, the other to see the world burn.
Edit 2: http://eou.comicgenesis.com/d/20121219.html -- So after going over the usb drive and the report, a heck of a lot is cleared up.

Darn it. Deception's story ends with him leaving Prison-gothic, and going into the 403/lost zone. Thematically appropriate, but still ...
