Not sure if Mort just deleted them or moved them to a different addie.
You mean links to http://themortician.comicgenesis.com/extraeou1.html that should be changed to http://themortician.comicgenesis.com/extraeou01.html ? Note the change to 2 digit numbers?

Yea, that's still linking wrong on the crossover hub pages.

Also, most of the forum comic links in the forum wars are to posts in the forum threads that no longer contain the graphic (perhaps change the links to the actual graphic?) All of the "#anchor" parts of those tags are broken -- the forum seems to have changed from "#12345" to "#p12345".
"So my Mom left me a huge heap of molding, rotten, decaying, puss-dripping zombies ... How cool is that?"

"So what is your advice to me?"
"Stop doing stupid crap."

Thanks for reminding me... I forgot about Mort's having moved and renamed the strips, I'll get those fixed as soon as I get the opportunity.

The links to the individual forumposts have most likely been screwed up when they went from PhP2 to PhP3, I'll most likely go and change the links now to point to the Keenfans-site Ankh set up... I'll see to this too when I get the time, hopefully soon.

But still, all strips from the Wars have been saved on the Hub, so in case they fully disappear from their respective sites, we still got the backup and will link to ths trips there :)

I don't suppose you'd like to change the TMA links to the new site while you're at it?

...that's a bit of a hefty task, actually.

The Cortland links are broken, too. And it would be nice to fix the matching links on the Evil Overlords site (there the Circle Arcadia links also need updating.) Hum, and Melonpool...

Okay, since I need to update quite a lot of links it means I will have to work on a lot of files... are there anything else people would like to see changes/added to the Archive? Anything that will help the reading experience... anyone? Keybounce?

... and don't state that something needs to be done, I want suggestions! Not facts!

Yea, suggestions.

When reading stories that have a "past", the best format I've seen as a reader is starting with chapter 6 (or whatever). As you read farther into the book, you eventually run into chapter 5, then chapter 4, etc.

A: When the story "starts", there are two or three threads:
1 - The editor's group deciding to be careful and not move too fast.
2 - Hogan, etc, talking about their version of Jenny Everywhere
3 - ... Hmm. Kerr/PSI "Just another day ... or is it" doesn't actually start yet -- the squirrels don't bring (and drop) scale's bracer in the middle of the battle for a while yet. Ratasok's "tree to tree" jumpers haven't been deployed yet. Ahh -- the SMOG backstory.

So, you start with chapter 6, or whatever, that has three sections -- the EO's introduction, and initial failure; the CC's idea, concept, and initial set up. SMOG can either be introduced here, or later in chapter 5. (Yea, later makes more sense.)

As you move forward, and tell more, you add in some backgrounds -- what's happening with Fess/Ernst/Kerr and the battle; what's happening with Ratasok's goals, and how his activities wind up hiding the bracelet; etc.

B: In all threads, you have chapters synchronized. So what's happening in the super hero line in chapter 8 is happening at the same time in the fantansy wars in chapter 8. For example, rogues of CW (?) has two or three story lines, and one of them includes the "Unleash the magic" that has an effect on the other -- yet if you don't follow by time, you miss that interaction.

Note that this means organizing by story time, not by publication date. The current "by date" pages are publication, and now that everything's written and drawn, we can re-order by sequence instead.

Eventually, in chapter 1, what's happening? A 500 year plan by a magic squirrel gets put into motion. An ancient Thingy is locked up, with dimension crossing ability (might require finishing the current prologue first). Or perhaps the Origin of The Editor finding Zworgue.

Hmm.... I think we need a good Editor to help clean up this story telling.

*sits the Editor on Keybounce*

Okay, I think we got to say to ourself "How should the strips of the Crossover Wars be place if this was a book you read from one end to the other?"... in short, how would we arrange the strips if we wanted to make a book out of the entire Wars?

... not that it would ever happen, I think the chances for that is some 0.001 % at best, but thats the way we should perhaps present it as a part of the Hub, for easy readability...

Um, I'm pretty sure there is no way you could arrange them that that would work. Which is exactly what's awesome about the Crossover Wars. And at the same time, confusing.

Actually, while trying to make sense of it, that was exactly the approach I was thinking of.

And yes, I've read enough time travel books (or various branching timeline stories) to think that it can be made sensible.

If you want to do this, then here is the first challenge: Write up the major events happening, in order, in both EOU and CC. (Do we have a wiki or other shared editing tool?)

The next challenge will be to determine what's happening in the other story threads that correspond to those events in those two.

===
Potential "layout"s of the story if it were a book:

1. A pair of facing pages would have 4 strips happening "at the same time". Most, but not all, of the time, two pages / 4 strips are sufficient to show what's happening simultaneously; when necessary, no EOU/CC update will appear for a few pages.

Actually, without edit trimming, most of the time it won't fit. If you could, for example, trim 3 or 4 pages of a strip to a single page (which we did see in some cases, when one author summarized what happened in another author's strip), then it could be done.

2. Similar, but if a given story has several pages that happen between "ticks", they all run before going to the next story. The pages that have "4 things happening at once" still occur, basically as "sync" pages when linking up the various time streams.

Okay, but then we've got things like the Squirrel Wars and all that, that just don't really fit in with the rest. And things like the WCA-hunt that is fairly important but branches off on its own.........

If the CW were to be put to print, then it would definitely need to be several books.

Just the Evil Overlords paper takes a whole 2 inch folder. That and the Volet fills almost completely one of my drawers.

Spoilsport ;)

Okay, there was no way to avoid it... I HAD to add this one to the Hub straightaway!

While at it, I also took the initiative to rearrange and update the specific Adult Wars Hub a little... DO let me know of any suggestions/ideas for titles, gimmick, rearranging of strips for better readibility etc.

However this part of the Hub turns out, it will most likely form the basic for the rest of the Hub which I will ge to work on afterwards, updating links etc...

I noticed that this strip
http://www.dragoneers.com/crossoverwars ... ganart.gif
is missing from Adult Wars subsection (it is in the main section)
Actually, I believe its the first strip in part 2?
Did a little rearragning here... thanks for clarification!
Moved the new strip up to form the, so far, last in part 5. Moved the "Hogan-Bot" ( :D ) strips down to an individual part, not knowing whether more shall be added her or not... so far.

And all of my filler comes before

Allright, I'll see if I can squeeze the new strips in correctly as we move along... looking forward to see what's coming up!
