Muhnee pwease?

Possibly the oddest fantasy epic ever written. Magic vodka, Aliens, Cannibal Coffee Ninjas, Little Yellow Idol, not to mention Mysterious Cloak Guy (you can call him 'Mickey' for short... but only on a good day)

Muhnee pwease?

Post by Tinkerbell »

Posting this here because I can't think of anywhere better right now and I don't want to be putting up a whole new page of the site for it (I'm allergic to superfluous html files ^_--).

Here's the drill: I've put up a Paypal button on the front of the site (top left, just below my depressingly low Webcomic List ranking). This is to fund several important things for which I must pay in the near future:

1> New glasses. My eyes are constantly tired these days (to the point that the computer phase of editing pages is becoming painful) and even if glasses won't fix that, they'll help it, I'll be getting somebody with training to look at my eyes and tell me what else is wrong with them, and I really do need the glasses (my 3-year-old prescription is as strong as anyone's I've ever met, and definitely out of date). This is the main focus of the current donations drive, and may cost as much as £150 ($300).

2> A new phone. My current one is a joke - more than four years old, none of the buttons on the keypad have any lettering on, half of them stick, the battery's a joke and it's only so long before it pegs it for good. And of course, this being the modern age, it's impossible to live without one... This isn't likely to be much (£30, tops), but I'm including it anyway just in case the whole drive flops and it's the only thing I can afford from it.

3> Driving lessons/a car. Don't worry, I'm not hoping to fund the entirety of what looks to be about a £2,000+ bill of getting me on the road from this comic; even I'm not that optimistic. However, being able to get around under my own steam (should that be 'on my own petrol'?) is going to be absolutely essential if I want to carry on playing drums, and playing drums is the only career I'm likely to get which would leave me time for drawing the comic, so any help I can get with it will be massively appreciated.

Right, that's what I want. Here's what I'm offering in return:

As I've said before, donating will *not* get anyone access to special content. There may be wallpapers or something in the future, but there'll be no bonus donator-only comics or anything; I hate the whole idea.

Instead, I'll be drawing extra pages in response to the amount of donations I receive. First, I'm going to do six pages of 'Drunken Scribblings Universe' at £25 (approx $50) each. These will cover Goblinoids, Galactic government, Hyperspace physics and the big ones of Zerflinken biology and breeding (so you can finally know *how* Tink wound up being 7% Riesan). The idea of these pages is to offer information taken for granted by characters in the comics - mostly in Zobbo - so that I don't have to write clunky exposition pages later on. There won't be much about Prismatic Vodka stuff because most of the stuff you guys don't know which is relevant is being kept secret for a reason *knowing smirk*.

These pages will each feature at least three images in the Prismatic Vodka style (unless the Zobbo style seems more appropriate), plus oodles of funky facts, and will be released in the gaps in my schedule - currently Tuesday and Saturday - no later than two openings after the threshold is reached.

After the first six pages of 'Universe', I'm not sure what I'll do; if people like Universe, I'll keep doing it, probably at about £30-£40 a page and start taking requests for what you guys want to know. If not, or if people vote for something else, I may do something a bit more ambitious at around £50 a page (possible examples include a Tinkerbell spin-off comic, 'Annoy' - for those of you who've ever wondered what all those annoying t-shirts Mike wears are about - and a little further down the line, the stories of the Primal Wars and Zobbo's youth).

Once we're past the initial six pages, though, I'll have to reserve the right to stop the incentive scheme or adjust it without notice, because I simply don't know when I might be overwhelmed in the coming year, and I think I'm already going to be monstrously busy.

Anyway, please give generously! My eyes need help! *plays the pathos card*

Thanks,

Tink

but but but...I like to donate money...(hmmm maybe that's why I don't have any :|) I have a job now anyway. I'm sure I could find something. I put myself on a budget of about $10 for two weeks so that I save most of it for grad school. But I'm sure I could find something ^_~

hahaha! That's funny. By the time I'm outa grad school I'm gonna have loans up to your eyeballs. Yes, your eyeballs, because I'm too short for how much money I'm going to owe lol!

So I may as well donate money while I have it.
