After a suggestion from Darian, I will put up this thread to try gathering a kind of timetable for the days before, after and especially Hallowen of the 31th October, to make it easier for you, the participants, to mingle the characters and do short crossovers where the characters happens to be on the same spot at the same time...

Off course, some of you intend to use this occasion for storylines over several days, and therefore it will be easier for you to incorporate this, but we should try to help along as much as possible.

So, drop as post about what kind of timeline you have been thinking on using for the Halloween Caper, and I'll try to update a general timeline here.

Also comments for making this more userfriendly are also welcome

A time-line will probably be essential for a crossover. Especially if an event is supposed to happen in Comic A before it happens in Comic B it's helpful for Comic A to update before Comic B.

When exactly is this supposed to start? Exactly on Halloween, a few days before?

Halloween is on a Tuesday this year.

I usually try to update MWF, but I can alter that if need be.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25th
Division/bell - Alex and Gray appear in Shelterville, quite unexpectedly. A covered wagon gets in the way; lots of noise ensues. Our heroes head to town, bumping into a cloaked figure on their way in.
The KAMics - Gertrude, Nikki & Brunhilda in General Store, a loud noise outside the store causes everyone inside to leave
Darian's Friends - A disoriented Kori rides into town on his motorcycle. On his way into town, he runs over Life and Death's Steve's foot on the way past because he is distracted by a loud noise and flash in the distance.
Life and Death - Steve threatens Darian's Friends's Kori for running over his foot.
Magical Misfits - Plot Unknown.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26th
Darian's Friends - Kori comments on Steve/Death's "Reaper Costume" and then comments that people are gathering in the distance.
Division/bell - Gray realizes that he no longer has the pendant he uses to open the portals. Alex points out that this is a very bad thing.
Magical Misfits - Plot Unknown.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27th
The KAMics - Plot unknown
Life and Death - Plot unknown
Division/bell - Alex and Gray begin searching around town, trying to find out both where they are and what happened to the pendant. Rumors persist that there is strange stuff going on at the cemetery, and that graves are being dug up for an unknown reason. The Scoleri Brothers run through town screaming about ghosts; Gray and Alex decide to check out the cemetery.
Darian's Friends - Kori runs into Death By Pixel's Jared and Matt and is incredibly relieved to discover a pair of relatively normal (if sarcastic) people from his own time. Tink and Sten also guest star, other characters are mentioned.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28th
Division/bell - While exploring the cemetery with a few of the others, they find that one of the open graves has a fake coffin in it; there's a stairway underneath leading down into the burial cave. Ghosts and other weird stuffs are appearing much more frequently now.
Darian's Friends - Kori decides that despite the others exploring the graveyard, staying at the canteen is the wisest course. When a game of drunken cricket threatens to break out, Kori changes his mind.
Magical Misfits - Plot Unknown.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29th
Darian's Friends - Kori considers, in a private thought process, and takes what he considers the only logical course of action: He kicks the trunk he blames for trapping them in Shelterville. Other comic characters will appear.
Division/bell - In the cave, Alex, Gray, and the others discover a trunk that seems familiar to Gray sitting off to the side with a strange glow coming off of it, as well as an altar with Gray's pendant on it. It's glowing the same way as the trunk. Gray suggests that things be handled with caution; a jump-kick to the trunk pretty much renders that suggestion moot.

Life and Death - Steve observes wittily that the shelterville events may be good for the reaper business.
Division/bell - The kick seems to rattle the trunk a bit, and the strange glow fades. Gray retrieves his amulet, and they see the cloaked character who stole it trying to escape from the cave. The ghosts returning to their graves grab him, pulling him kicking and screaming into the other world with them. Alex muses, "Wow. You never saw that on Scooby Doo...

Please reply right away with your planned release schedule, even if you have no idea what your story is yet. Getting things in order will help us connect our stories.

Please note this is a publication schedule only, ie comics published on the 25th may actually take place on the 31st. The entire crossover party takes place on the 31st Oct 1883, I believe.

If we plan this properly, and we finish our strips ahead of time, and we all stick to our release dates, we can actually build a chain of "Go here next" messages that will bring all readers to every single comic site. What do you think?

So you plan to start on Wednesday, October 25 then?

I do have to have a comic up before Magical Misfits appear, but we haven't set any dates yet.

We should probably start passing scripts & ideas around via Private Messages and/or email so we can keep storylines & characters straight (& keep the storyline(s) private from the readers

) & post a general thing here. Such as

Kam, have you decided what days will be your days of publication? If so then you and I can put our strips into the timeline and begin the skeleton of a shelterville story arc.

Kam, you forgot to log in, so you won't be able to edit the post you made with the strips in order. I think for clarity's sake I will attach an up to date version of the current publication schedule to the very top of my earliest post in this thread and include everyone as they post. If that's okay with Hogan, that is.

Does anyone else know for sure exactly which day(s) they'll be publishing for shelterville on? Then we can start planning what the string of crossovers will look like.

I'm going to start working this weekend/next week on the Shelterville strips, and am currently planning on hosting 1 strip each day of the crossover (i.e., the 25th thru the 31st.) Specific plot details haven't been worked out yet, but I do know that Alex and Gray will appear outside of town via a portal, and will be searching for a way to open a new portal and find their missing friends (who won't be featured in the Shelterville setting.)

Just a note, as well... to Alex and Gray, they'll be out of their regular time in regards to both the year and the date, since because of the various bad stuffs that's happened with me Division/bell has been on hiatus for quite some time, and it's still early in the year in the regular D/b continuity.

Yeah, I'm not going to add anyone that doesn't confirm, because obviously crossovers should be 2-way, but I hope these people reply soon, because the more the merrier. Thanks for the list.

Hopefully more people will confirm after Hogan sends out his reminder e-mail. After all, some of these people RSVP'd several months in advance... it might have slipped their mind by now.

I'll let you guys write about Dia's ancestor. The nice thing about this setup for me is that I'll be reading it. When the time is right for Dia to remember her family she'll be recounting the stories she's been told as a child about Dia of the 1800s. And that recounting could happen multiple times in Pr0ncrest's current storylines.

KAM, is the event in the general store somewhat 'explosive' in nature? Would it be visible/audible from the edge of town?

Right now I'm working on the script for a Pr0nCrest story called "The Good, The Bad, and the Sexy". It may start EARLIER than October 25 (my storylines can get quite long). I will try my best to include most if not all the cameo characters. I also have to know what they're doing in town so I can write the script to match.

My plan is currently to produce a 3-page special for release on the 31st. I was thinking chiefly of doing a sort of party montage where my characters end up talking to similar characters from other comics involved in the story. I don't really have time within the comic to start any further ahead, and I don't really want to run behind either, so I'm pretty much stuck on Halloween, hence the 2 extra pages.

Do you mean the event that draws the people out of the General Store, that is external & I don't know what it is (I could make something up, but I thought I'd see if anyone had any suggestions first.

How about a loud noise from the graveyard (Bang? Howl? Explosion? Spaceship crash?) that draws a bunch of people's attention from accross town, and gets mentioned in more than one crossover comic? That opens us up to meet eachother. ^_^

I'm going to tentatively add that as a plot idea in my own planned strip for the 26th.

Does anyone want to be picked up on a motorcycle on the way into town? I'm thinking of dropping this idea if no one else goes for it.

On the 31st, Gray and Alex will be leaving Shelterville via a portal... and will then be going after their friends who are lost in other locations.

Still working on stuff for the rest of the week... anyone who wants to have plot crossovers with D/b, they can happen during this period.
