Rules and Regulations

Post by Akilika »

Hi, folks! This is your moderator, lord and master--well, uh, I draw the comic, anyway. Figured it was about time to set out some guidelines, what with moving to a new area, just 'cause . . . well, to be honest, I'm gonna be a bit more permissive than I was at the first forum. I figure it's better to spell these things out.

(Incidentally, since Hogan owns and runs these forums, he gets the right to veto any of the below or make up rules of his own.)

So. Things That Are Not Allowed:

1. Spamming. This means don't post links without trying to relate them to Dog & Pony or the thread you're in somehow, or posting lots of meaningless messages in order to boost your post count. This is a first-offense sort of thing--if you think you've been wrongly banned, e-mail either Hogan or me.

2. Being Mean. I'm keeping this vague on purpose--the situation on this one can vary pretty widely, especially between people who know each other. But seriously, just try to keep it friendly.

Things That Are Allowed, but Restricted:

1. Adult content. The restrictions are that it must be on-topic and it must be warned in such a way that it's easy to choose not to see it. More rules if necessary, but I don't honestly think this one's gonna come up much.

2. Off-topic threads. I'll be annoyed if there are more off-topic threads than ones that have anything to do with Dog & Pony or related developments, but I'm not gonna tell you what you can and can't talk about.

Things That Never Should Have Been Against the Rules:

1. Alternate Universe D&P fanfic/fan art. I gave some stupid rant on this in the old forum, but I was wrong and am sorry. (Especially considering I've got Threepenny Row floating around.)

So . . . is that everything? We're a pretty good bunch here, not to mention small, so I can't imagine even this many rules was necessary. But

Okay, that last item is just begging for Brighton/Karo furry slash... ;p

I'd add the guideline to have the alt-universe characters act according to their original selves, adjusted for cultural differences.

As for your second point . . . eh. I can't demand that people write *well*. :P (Though you guys can if you want.)

Thanks. ^_^

Aye aye, Captain Aki!

I can't write much. As for fanart, I think I'll give it a shot whenever I'm in the right mood.
