Necromancy in Webcomics

Post by RazorD9 »

From zombies, to the blood suckers, the undead have appeared in numerous webcomics. But what interest me are the living that would dabble in undead arts. Rather it's for the cliche rule the world or to preserve the worlds balance, necromancers have played these roles. How does this dark art play in your webcomic?

For example in D.D.S.R., Larren, (The Necromancer) is a bit more apathetic when it comes to his powers. Summoning a giant skeletal hand (Hand of Kjardesz) to pick things up and settle arguments as well as playing rock paper scissors with. This along his abilities to summon the Fiend Knight of Kjardesz and a few other spells are gifted onto him by the guardian of the dead himself. Sure he could raise a few zombies, but he finds it bothersome it the smell and the moaning that there is no point in summoning them.

Thomas, during the 09' capers as well as in The Good, the Bad, and the Malicious arc, had summoned zombies to do his bidding. Unlike raising zombies, the Necromatic Puppeteering uses less magic per body, enables a powerful enough necromancer to re-raise the bodies as well as boost them, but are link to him in that he most always be focused on them and if taken out, (unconscious or dead) the spell is broken and the zombies revert to dead bodies.

Necromancing in D.D.S.R., least not having been seen yet, is primarily used in preparation of certain bodies, exorcisms, and even to help solve murders (easier to ask the victim who dunnit). Though still get the rabble rousers that try to make an undead army, but tend to fail.

Now, let's here from anyone else about there comic and necromancing in it as well as what kind of undead you might have lurking around.
